January 2017 – Dear Friends . . .
Save Our Farm Letter
First, we would like to thank you for business – each and every one of you is part of the Demarest Farms family. As you may be aware, the borough of Hillsdale recently put in place some drastic parking restrictions deliberately targeting our customers. This includes closing public streets around the farm to prevent you from parking nearby when our lots become full. While we understand the town’s concerns, these extreme steps are unfair to you and all families who visit us.
The actions taken by the town also put the future of the farm at risk. Running and maintaining a farm in today’s economy is not easy and these restrictions could have a devastating financial impact. We take great pride in being part of the community and hope to be here for you and your family for many years to come. One of the best parts about the fall season is welcoming families to our farm from far and wide. Wherever you’re visiting us from, we want you to know that that we are taking every step we can to make it easy and convenient for you to get here and park your vehicle here.
As we continue to work towards a solution, it’s important that local officials understand just how special the farm is to our visitors and how essential local access and parking is to your experience. We need your help and hope you will join our efforts. Please send us an email or reply to this message to join our campaign to Save Demarest Farms. It would mean a lot to us if you let us know what the farm means to you. You can email us at Demarestfarms@gmail.com.
